Who Should Consider Sperm Freezing?
Common Questions
How long can frozen sperm be stored? +
Sperm can be cryopreserved indefinitely without loss of viability. Successful pregnancies have been achieved using sperm stored for over 20 years. IRMC offers long-term storage with annual renewal and no fixed expiry.
How should I prepare for sperm freezing? +
We recommend 2–5 days of abstinence before providing a sample to optimise sperm concentration and count. Our team will provide specific preparation guidelines ahead of your appointment. If ejaculation is not possible, surgical sperm extraction (TESA/PESA) is available.
Can frozen sperm be used for IVF? +
Yes. Frozen-thawed sperm can be used for intrauterine insemination (IUI), conventional IVF, or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). Our embryology team selects the most appropriate technique based on post-thaw sperm quality.
Is sperm freezing confidential? +
Completely. All consultations and procedures are conducted with strict confidentiality. Samples are stored under anonymised identification with multiple cross-verification protocols to ensure security and privacy.
